Little Choc Apothecary: NYC’s all-vegan creperie!

Hooray for me! I made it to Little Choc Apothecary, the brand new, all-vegan creperie in Williamsburg! This was v difficult as I do not like to leave my house. Luckily, no one told me it’d be snowing by the time I was done brunch. But you know what? I woulda gone even if I knew about the snow! Well, prob not. But in hindsight, totes worth the frozen toes.

The place is adorable. And it was half-empty, much to my surprise (maybe those jerks in wburg watch the Weather Channel). So I didn’t have to wait for a table. The seating area is upstairs; you order at the counter downstairs and they’ll bring it up. It’s not formal table service but everyone who worked there was SUPER nice. Like, so pleasant.

The menu is not huge—except the tea section. They take tea v seriously! They also have lattes and all that, with choice of soy, almond, or coconut milk. For crepes you have a handful of savory options and then for sweet crepes, you can design your own from a list of fillings.

I got the Room for Mushroom savory crepe to start. It was a crispy crepe filled with herb roasted mushrooms, spinach, walnuts, and tahini basil sauce. OF COURSE I added the Treeline Cheese for an extra dollar.

How to describe this crepe… HAVE MERCY! It was delicious.

I followed the mushroom number with a classic “newtella” (homemade hazelnut spread…i.e. vegan nutella), banana, and strawberry crepe for dessert.

SO GOOD. One thing I really liked about both crepes is they were so crispy on the outside!

This is the dessert crepe my friend got—filled with homemade raw berry chia jam. I didn’t try it because I was full of Newtella BECAUSE I KNOW HOW TO PRIORITIZE. But she enjoyed it.

That’s all the food we ate but I really want to go back to try this afternoon tea bit they do! Looks SO FUN. I wonder if my dad would go with me…he loves tea…but is the biggest baby when he can’t get dairy products. Oy vey, parents! Regardless, I at least will definitely be going back soon for vegan afternoon tea!

Has anyone else been yet? Were the other savory crepes good? The mushroom one was so good but the other options didn’t sound nearly as appealing.
