Ingredients
½ block of extra firm tofu
1 cup oil
Dry Ingredients
½ tsp Onion powder
½ tsp Garlic
½ tsp Cayenne pepper
1 tsp Old bay
½ tsp Pepper
½ tsp Salt
¼ tsp Chipotle pepper
1 tsp Paprika
1 tbsp Nutritional yeast
1/2 cup Flour
Toppings:
Vegan Bun
Lettuce
3 tbsp Vegan Ranch (I found this at Walmart)
1 tsp Texas Pete
Directions
- Cut your block in half wrapping one half in a sandwich bag for later use, and put the other half of your tofu block on a cutting board and press out the water with a couple paper towels. You want your block to be a little moist but not soaking wet.
- Cut your pressed block length ways to make your two “patties
- Combine your dry ingredients in a small bowl
- Coat your tofu on all sides with the dry ingredients and with your oil at about 350 degrees, Carefully put the tofu in
- Cook until golden brown on all sides
- Place on a plate with a couple napkins to drain excess oil
- For sauce: Mix Texas Pete and Ranch together in a bowl
- This is served best on a lightly toasted vegan bun with vegan Texas Ranch or just vegan Ranch and lettuce. Enjoy!
