Hi my friends! Time to look inside last month’s Vegan Cuts…

Hi my friends! Time to look inside last month’s Vegan Cuts Beauty Box!

Well there was the cutest bug spray stuff, Bug-a-Boo. It says it’s a non-toxic alternative to those scary bug sprays and it smells like rosemary! Count me in! I know it’s not very vegan of me to say but I HATE bugs. They haunt me in my dreams. Oy vey.

There was also a nice lipgloss from Emani, organic sunblock, and Peta Fresh organics scale treatment conditioner. But the hot item in the office was the Mermaid Sea Salt hair spray from Captain Blankenship

See you next month!

I got this for free but if you want to try it, the box subscription is $19.95 a month, shipping included (for US addresses. International is more).

Jerry James Stone sure knows the way to a Vegansaur’s heart:…

Jerry James Stone sure knows the way to a Vegansaur’s heart: tequila! Check out his new recipe for the Heirloom Tomato Bloody Mary

I don’t actually like bloody marys (maries?), but, as I was just saying to a friend: While I don’t like drinking them myself, I find them fun and fabulous and fascinating! I think it’s all the accessories you get to add? Idk but I really enjoy people who enjoy them. I just don’t like actually drinking them.

I know sometimes bloody marys aren’t veeg, but I’m never clear on why. So I looked it up because I am a pro-journalist. The bloody mary ingredient you have to watch for is Worcestershire sauce, because it may contain anchovies (EW TO THE MAX). But while the old classic brand Lea & Perrins has the bitty fishies, Annie’s is easy to get and is totes vegan. You can also find plenty of recipes for vegan Worcestershire on the amazing internet–my beloved Martha even has one!

In related news, I know I’ve mentioned this before but am I the only one who doesn’t know how to pronounce Worcestershire sauce because of that one Scooby Doo episode where they keep pronouncing it different ways?? That Scooby! Such a scamp.

To make your own heirloom tomato bloody mary, you can watch the vid featuring the delightful JJS on Cooking Stone’s FB or read the recipe with your reading skills on CookingStoned.tv
