We’ve recently come across a beautiful cooking blog called The Café Sucré Farine. Chris is the cook, and her husband Scott takes beautiful photos of her creations. All of the recipes are inspiring to convert to being vegan. Coming from Florida I often yearn for tropical flavors, so this recipe attracted my eye. It was […]
PERUVIAN SUMMER RECIPES
Just wanted to let you know that an article of mine is featured in the latest issue of VegNews magazine (Aug 2014)– a little bit of history and four colorful and scrumptious vegan-style Peruvian recipes, inspired by foods that I remember from a childhood visit to my father’s family in Lima. I hope you get a chance to see the article and try the recipes.
The print version is available at Whole Foods, Chapters and other stores, and *you can access it for free online* at http://viewer.epaperflip.com/Viewer.aspx?docid=04e18928-3985-4d35-ad8a-a347014fddd5 (Personally, I like to have the print version of magazines, but you can download the PDF from this link, and/or print pages.)

Cooling Down with Choosing Raw: A Review
I have been veg for so long now I sometimes scoff when people say to me, “but being vegan must be so hard!” That’s before I remember that I’ve been doing this for close to 20 years, so of course it’s not hard – for me. But when I think about raw food, that’s exactly what I think: “That must be so hard!”
This Morning’s “I agree with you but” Email
I get hundreds of emails and private messages every day. A common theme is “I agree with you but” and a common version of that that theme is to criticize me for not patting people on the head because they are not vegans but are on “journeys” toward being vegan. Here’s one that greeted me […]

It’s that time of the month again! No, not that time,…
It’s that time of the month again! No, not that time, it’s Vegan Cuts Beauty Box time! Here’s you peek into this past month’s box.
The Superchic Lacquer caused a feeding frenzy at work. It ended up getting passed around. Like a 40 at an 8th grade party. Everybody was really into the color. It was a light blue, I think this one.
And of course the Pacifica eyeliner was popular! Did you know they made eyeliner? I did not.
What else…oh! My new favorite thing was in the box! NYL nourishing facial serum! I recently tried a bunch of NYL stuff that I’ve been meaning to review—oops! It’s coming, I swear!—and this was actually my favorite product of theirs. So it was pretty dope to find it in the beauty box.
I was also into the LA Fresh nail polish remover because it’s a nice little travel polish remover and travel shiz is the best! You know me, always travelin.
That’s your peek into the Beauty Box this month!
I got this for free but if you want to try it, the box subscription is $19.99 a month, shipping included (for US addresses. International is more).
