If you’re veg and planning or available to be in NYC on Sunday, March 29, the Veggie Pride Parade NYC 2015 is for you! This annual showing of compassionate, New York pride is eight years strong and this promises to be one of the best yet.
Plan to arrive in the West Village at Ninth Avenue and Gansevoort Street at 11 a.m. to get your literal marching orders: The parade begins at noon and ends in Union Square Park with a flurry of activity. There will be a ton of exhibitors and speakers on hand sharing personal stories, information, and even food samples.
From the organizer, Pamela Rice: “Parade participants are encouraged to dress up in costumes and wear sign boards announcing their pride in their vegan lifestyle. Local restaurants, veg groups, and veg everything will be represented with banners and chants. The parade will include animal-rights activists, environmentalists, and people simply concerned with their health.“
