Raising animals for food is putting a great strain on our environment. Now is the time to make some changes.
Here are the powerful and positive impacts of choosing vegan:
- addressing world hunger – by choosing plants over animals for our meals, we are supporting the efficient use of land and resources to grow crops to feed people – not to grow crops to feed to animals to then feed to people.
- water preservation – by choosing plants over animals, we are not supporting the factory farming of animals – among the top three polluters of our fresh drinking water.
- soil preservation – by choosing plants over animals, we are not supporting the raising of livestock and deforestation which is ruining nutrient soil preserves.
- reduced energy consumption – by choosing plants over animals, we are not supporting the intensive energy required to raise, slaughter, ship and process animals for food.
- reduced air pollution – by choosing plants over animals, we are not supporting the intensive pollution output that comes from raising, slaughtering, shipping and processing animals for food.
- better health – a diverse diet rich in plant-based foods is healthier and reduces the chances of many health-related diseases.
- reduced animal suffering – by choosing plants over animals for our meals, we are making an active choice to not support the extensive suffering, confinement, and slaughter of animals.
Today is the day to get started on transitioning more plant foods into your diet and replacing meat, dairy and eggs as often as possible – for the animals, for the environment, and for your health!
